Meet Dr. Maté
I completed medical school in 1972 at the University of Chile in Santiago, Chile.
My postgraduate studies in Internal Medicine and Respiratory Medicine were completed at McGill University Teaching Hospital and the University of Manitoba.
Having completed these studies, I obtained certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine with a subspecialty in Pulmonary Disease and Royal College Certification in 1984.
Since then I have regularly participated in professional upgrading and attended International Seminars and Meetings to stay on top of relevant medical advances.
Additionally, as teaching faculty at the University of Toronto, I interact with and supervise medical students, residents and fellows on a regular basis, all of which allows me to remain current in the practice of medicine.
My hospital affiliation is with St. Michael’s Hospital, and I have consultation privileges at Shouldice Hospital providing Preoperative Medical Assessment.
I am also a consultant in Respiratory Medicine for the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB).
I also did work as Medical Assessor for Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal (WSIAT).
I completed a Postgraduate Web-based Course in the University of Montreal in Insurance Medicine and Medicolegal Expertise Program.
My assistant and I take pride in providing a professional service to you as a patient.
As a patient, you can count on prompt and dedicated attention to improve your health.
